This month, Time Wharp (a.k.a Patrick Loggins) has graced us with the fourth installment of The Melt Mix Series. If you’ve kept up with our website over the past few months, then you’re sure to have heard a lot of buzz about this Atlanta Native. Coming off of the successful release of his BLK EP released on the Astro Nautico imprint, and running his own club night/record label (JASS), this 21 year old has been on a steady rise and we’ve been looking forward to hearing a mix from him. Spanning from Roy Ayers to Fade To Mind anthems, this dance floor inspired mix showcases a display of unique takes on the coalescent genre’s bubbling up whilst giving us a look into what inspires Time Wharp.
Today, a new up-and-coming collective and record label 6BIT releases their first compilation, featuring exclusives from Dreams, Wondr, Eliot, Caves, Phoebe Bridgers and many more…for free! One of my long time favorite french producers and filmmakers, Mr. Oizo returns today with his 7-track EP Stade 3, following his incredible 2011 album Stade 2. In order to download it you have to get lost in his website, but I assure you it is worth every second. Download the whole thing for free here and tell us what you think!
To my delight, this morning, I stumbled upon some new material from one of my favorite up and coming producers that goes under the moniker Evenings. The Charlottesville native crafts luminous beats that demonstrate a nice symmetry of ambience and upbeat percussion. Download and stream the album below and make sure to check out Evenings previous releases on his Bandcamp.

Today, long time friend of ours and Melt resident Gossamer has put together his first EP. Gossamer EP will be a part of a series of releases that we’llbe putting out for free on The Melt Bandcamp page.
Gossamer EP is comprised of broken rhythms, big atmospheres and vivacious beats. A broad range of styles are incorporated, starting slow with the darker heartfelt ambient track “seroquelyl,” and then changing pace with the soulful, feel-good, head-nodder “didn’t mean to.” The third track, “Name tape,” is the most versatile of the bunch, driven by live instrumentation, soft vocal samples and organic textures. The fourth track, “U(Browns Round),” splices off the EP with a hint of eeriness and brings us back to Gossamer’s 90’s hip hop roots.
We fully endorse this release, and Gossamer, and look forward to seeing what the future has to offer him!
